artisans that are hard to find

1

The seeds for Art2Find were sown by my Grandmother’s tenacity and hard work that enabled her to migrate to America from Haiti. The seeds for Art2Find were also sown by my artisan Grandfather whose creativity flows in my veins. It was because of those seeds I was fortunate to reap the benefits of a life well-traveled and a life of opportunities that afforded me an education both in America and the United Kingdom. And it’s because of those seeds, I was able to live a life that has allowed me to travel to 30+ countries where I have seen an array of art, artisans and craftsmen that need to have their stories told. Art2Find is the fertile ground for harvesting these stories and showcasing it to the world. As I tell the artisan’s stories, I am reminded of the stories my grandmother and grandfather didn’t get to tell the world. Our docuseries will give others the chance that my grandparents missed.

Join me as we travel around the world in search of undiscovered artisans from rich and diverse cultures. Take part in a journey of a lifetime where the true essence of each artisan will be shared through storytelling and visual effects. Our storytelling style will help you to know the artisans, their families, and their communities as a whole. By showcasing their work we intend to build global demand for their work of art and to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of these artisans. I believe in the saying that it takes a village, but the reverse is also true that one can help an entire village.

There are an overwhelming number of artisans in developing countries without proper representation attributed to the absence of formal education/training and government support. Many families are reliant on selling their handcrafted products to maintain their livelihood, however, without proper exposure, they ultimately struggle to stay afloat. Art2Find is about a 360 experience and making sure that we are not solely investing in the individual but the community at large. Our hope is that the artisans we empower will be able to leverage this newfound autonomy at higher levels of governance.
